Mike is the best

I live in Dallas-Fort Worth, and have always really liked his writing and when he was on the radio. He is insightful, does his homework, and is also very funny, which makes reading him more enjoyable. He does not take himself too serious, which seems to be a lost art these days.

He knows the ins and outs of Mavs and NBA basketball and sports in general as well as most.
I could do without his momentary fits of liberalism, but I will work to get him on the RIGHT track.

A must read! GO FISH!

Need a Dallas Mavericks fix during the slow off-season? DallasBasketball.com is the place. Mike Fisher provides scoops about goings-on behind the scenes, complete with pop culture references and his own unique insight, laced with humor and interesting tidbits about happenings in Cowboys land and sports in general.

The message boards on the site are peopled by knowledgeable, opinionated, intelligent, quirky, insightful, self-policed posters, including Fisher himself. Definitely a cut above others I have read. A great place to voice your opinion and learn something, too.

Mike's articles are both witty, informative, and life saving. Life saving? Yeah, especially during the Mav's summer offseason when there's nothing to do except go to Fish's db.com site 10 times a day, without which Western Civilization would cease to exist!

Simply put, he makes you think. He is not always right but he always puts forth thoughtful and orginal opinions, and is what I always look for in sportswriters, he is informed, knowledgeable, and ichthyological.

Fisher's no Shakespeare, but what he lacks in style he makes up with good observation, thoroughness, inside views and an extensive knowledge of the Dallas Mavericks. Definitely one of the better sports sites out there.

My first stop on the internet every day
June 05, 2009

In a time when my favorite newspapers have become nothing mmore than online ad hosting sites and when ESPN somehow breaks every story (according to their crawl), Mike Fisher and DB.com have continued to maintain a standard of excellence.

Their combination of old-school journalism and cutting edge technology make this my first internet stop every day. The articles are both informational and funny - a rare combination these days. In addition, I've learned more breaking Mavs and NBA stories there first then all other sites combined.

One of my favorite things about DB.com is reading the articles there and then watching them show up in mainstream news 2-3 days later. Wonder how that happens?

Finally, this site also has an incredible user board community that contributes to the overall experience. Even if some of them are knuckleheads...

I have followed Mike Fisher for years from several differnet radio stations to www.dallasbasketball.com. He does a great job covering sports and has an excellent "staff" of researchers that provide insight into what is going on in the NBA.

Thank you Fish!!

Best Dallas sports site. Period.
June 05, 2009
Since I began frequenting dallasbasketball.com around 2003, I've realized how little the other media folks actually (and I) know about the Mavs. Db.com beats local basketball coverage and espn insider all to hell.

But I think Fish is just an interesting writer/thinker. His takes on all sports stories (local and national) are more than worthwhile.

If his site was about thimbles, I might still follow it. Because itd be considered, funny, and at times, profound.
