Nogrinnin - Scribnia.com

Nogrinnin, What To Do When Your Head Falls Off

Description: I started this blog when I found out that I might (probably) have a brain tumor. At that time all I had was fear and uncertainty, but no solid information. I didn't want to tell anyone I knew while waiting for a definitive diagnosis, so I started blogging instead. A week and a half after my first visit to an eye doctor (during which time I had three eye exams and an MRI), I was diagnosed with a benign golfball-sized brain tumor, or meningioma. After I got the diagnosis, I started telling my closest friends and family members, but most of the people around me still don't know. I try not to think about it all the time, but I think about it a lot. I try very hard not to talk about it much to those people who do know about it. I think it's both boring and distressing to them, and very self-absorbed of me to be going on and on about myself. So I keep updates to a minimum and only when asked. But I do keep thinking about it. A lot. So I blog. It's an outlet.
