Promoting self-care for single mamas

July 25, 2010

Now this is what I'm talking about! I'm a single mom
too but am sick of ONLY hearing about how to be good
moms. Christine, however, talks about how to take care
of ourselves too. YES! I totally agree. Mothers, but
especially SINGLE mothers need time to herself, to get
away and be with the girls. I am so glad she supports
this notion and gives humurous and fun tips in her
articles on how to do exactly that.

Janice is a funny mommy with excellent grammar

July 23, 2010

What makes Janice a fun author? Well, she adds humor
to her writing. She has a fresh outlook on motherhood
and is a great writer as well. When she relays a story
about her toddler, you can really imagine what is going
on and laugh out loud with her. I could also tell she
is well organized in her thoughts.

Great eHow profitable tips

June 11, 2009

Willow gives excellent advice to freelance writers such
as myself. She targets eHow users on how to write
keyrich words in their articles. She also gives tricks
and insider tips which are quite useful for newbies and
experienced alike. Her blog is becoming quite trendy
on the forums these days.

One of my favorite blog posts from her is the one on
how to see if your ehow articles are profitable. I
tried out some of her techniques and got to say, she
knows what she is talking about. I reccommend her blog
for writers, especially emerging ones.

I love seeing what new blogs Willow has posted!

beautiful birds

June 02, 2009

I wasn't aware of this site until now and am glad I
came across it. I used to scour the web for blogs like
hers. I love when artists display their artwork for
the world to see, It's interesting how she adds the
element of a feather in every piece. My favorites are
with the birds in the vintage looking designs. I could
see myself framing these as they look quite classic and
whimsical. The fact that she uses a slideshow to
showcase her artwork fits with the mixed media concept
well.

Always look forward to her emails

June 02, 2009

I've been a fan of Hope's for awhile now. I anxiously
await her "Small Markets" email newsletters here and
there. I believe they arrive weekly. I also subscribe
to her funds for writers newsletter and her writing for
kids newsletter. All are all very thought out,
researched, and informative. Occasionally I'll read
her article before going down and scrolling the new job
openings and I am usually pleased at her advice. She
gives advice by relating personal narrative or someone
else's story to writing. It's always helpful and a
much needed email to open up every time it arrives.

Spammy looking site

June 01, 2009

Her whole site just looks like a load of SPAM! It's
very annoying on the eyes and you really have to be
looking for a gem among the "trash" so to speak, in
order to proceed. The irony is that she is promoting
feng shui, when in reality, the site is the total
oppossite of it. Feng shui is supposed to bring you
peace and free flowing energy. My energy feels sucked
with looking at all the clutter on her site. She may
have some good advice and worth paying the $24 or
whatever it is to hear it, but I'll pass. There's a
better way for authors like herself to sell their
ebooks and a spammy looking site really isn't it.

Wonderful source for writers

June 01, 2009

I find Anne's blogs extremely useful. We are both
writers. However, she is a true professional at work.
I appreciate all the writing tips she gives her
readings. The thing I love the most about Anne's blogs
and website, and her periodical email updates is the
notifications of new writing jobs around the web. In
fact, I found Scribnia through her blog posts. I
frequent her blogs on a weekly basis (or daily) to see
what new jobs are available on the web and what advice
she has to give me as a writer.

Variety of art using dolls as inspiration

May 28, 2009

While Danita's main focus is on creating dolls, her
blog showcases that she dabbles in more than just doll
making. She does, however, use the dolls as the main
source of inspiration for her other pieces of art work.
Danita works on drawings, jewelry (mainly necklaces)
and photography. She also works with cloth and
ceramics. I think the eyes on her dolls are kinda
dreary but I like her creative expression and her
artspace looks like a lot of fun, especially the
painting part.

Not that bad of a guru

May 28, 2009

I immediately come across a blog post reviewing the
Amazon Kindle. I absolutely love mine! How this has to
do with his blog pertaining to self help, he doens't
make clear. I mean I could list several ways it has
improved my life, but that is not the point.

Then he goes onto creating a belief board. Anyone
who has been around for self help books, dvds, talks,
etc knows that this is a cheap replica of the vision
board proposed to on The Secret. Nonetheless, the
concept is a good one and should be listened to.

Art is found everywhere

May 28, 2009

Ooh I like how she combines poetry or creative writing
with her artwork. I love the combination of the two
together. What I like about her artwork is the fact
that she finds beauty, even in the mundane. I, too,
take the same approach to life. She describes things
using all her five senses and envelopes the reader in
experiencing the same. Not all her work is in prose,
some is description.

She gives the idea of creating a notebook filled with
words that inspire us. I'm all about creating and
collecting what is meaningful to us and treasuring
that. She has some really creative and thoughtful
ideas I can actually really identify with.
