Rick Steves - Europe Travel Guru

September 27, 2009

Rick Steves has been a staple of Pacific Northwest
television for as long as I can remember. Even though
he can be a little dry, his weekly Europe travel show
provides the basis for planning a great trip.

Matthew Polly is a writer, martial artist, and world
traveler.

American Shaolin gives a wonderful, funny, insight into
the world of martial arts and the Shaolin monk way of
life. It's a great read while offering inspiration at
the same time. American Shaolin also paints a picture
of China and it's rapidly changing world.

Christina Katz - Writer, Mama, & Great Advice Giver

June 26, 2009

I bought ‘Writer Mama’ by Christina Katz at a tag
sale (sorry!) because it looked interesting and it was
about writing, my favorite thing. I never really gave
it a second glance until a few months later.

Even though the main idea of the book is how to write
while being a full time mom, there were amazing
practical tips for any writer. Katz provides solid
examples that can be followed through with ease and of
course, a little determination.

Now my copy of Writer Mama is filled with colorful
highlighted entries every few pages and sits
prominently on my desk. And did I mention the size?
It’s very portable and comfortable with its 6” x
7” size. Pick up your own copy today and don’t
forget your highlighters.

Juila Dimon - Cutesy Canadian Travel Girl

June 26, 2009

As ‘The Travel Junkie,’ Julia Dimon roams the world
in search of “the quirky side” of travel. And
that’s what makes her writing interesting. Dimon’s
stories include such topics as Witchcraft in Mexico,
the World Beard Championship in Germany; the Rock,
Paper, Scissors International World Championship in
Toronto, and the Running of the Nudes in Spain, which
all provide her acclaimed “untamed travel for the
young and the restless.”
