One of the Globe's best and most relevant Metro section
writers

May 08, 2009

Mr. Walker, despite writing for mostly a political
audience, is on my Must Read list for the Globe
writers. I am decidedly apolitical, but Walker always
manages to capture my interest in writing about people
who are ordinary and yet do extraordinary things. As an
African-American, he does have a particular interest in
African-American affairs, so his column tends to be
about that community, but his larger interest is
Massachusetts as a whole, and in particular Boston
politics. I always enjoy reading him, he has a way of
making the reader care deeply about his subjects and
writes considerately of those he profiles.
