It’s kind of hard to think of just one word to
describe Danny Brown’s blog – so I’ll go with
two: insightful and innovative.
Insightful because he always gives me something to
think about. I have never encountered a blog as thought
provoking in social media, marketing and public
relations as Danny’s. He just has this knack for
thinking outside of the box.
For example, there is a weekly Twitter chat called
#Journchat, and recently Danny wrote a small piece
about it on his blog, asking if its lost its sparkle.
#Journchat is a highly successful Twitter chat that
yields many participants, in and out of the
Communications field. One of the main points of
Danny’s discussion was that, while #Journchat may
have started on Twitter, it is possible that it has now
out grown Twitter as its home. So much so, Twitter
cannot keep up with it.
Twitter, a real-time outlet, cannot keep up with
#Journchat? What?
I never thought about that before. How?
Well, according to Danny, #Jounchat should think
about moving to a message board type of platform where
each post can be seen, read and responded to in
threads. Where each participant can respond to the
questions at their leisure, staying on topic and more
organized. Or Danny suggested moving #Journchat to a
real chat room so that participants will not be left
behind and will see what is going on at the same time
– without the interference of Twitter application
lags and general Twitter lags.
That is innovative.
Who would have thought that in something ‘real
time’…well, needed more ‘real time’ or lack
thereof.
That’s what I’m talking about.
Danny Brown’s blog is insightful and innovative. I
know when I want a good read, I can count on Danny.
