"Margaret Thatcher’s vigorous"

April 08, 2013

George Will is nothing if not legendary among the
opinion merchants. On the date of this review Will
wrote about Margaret Thatcher who died at the age of
87. She too was a legend and rightfully so. Mr. Will,
I think, misses the mark just a bit by starting with a
physical description of Thatcher. But he most
certainly describes her accomplishments with enough
context that you can see how she changed Great Britain,
Europe, and the entire world. Something Will does
well, in this article and others, is to let you come to
some of the same conclusions as he has reached without
saying so explicitly. In simple terms, he persuades
you to his point of view while letting you think it was
your idea to be persuaded. That's no easy to do in
800 words or less.

"The axis of evil" is reborn in Obamas "syndicate of
terror"

December 03, 2009

Although some may not share conservative views, it's
always paramount to read opposing thought. Why?
Because when you read those that agree with you, they
are telling you what you want to hear. They are in
essence preaching to the choir.

I would rather read what the opposition has to say
(for those of liberal thought), and George Will is
certainly reaching out to those that want to hear him,
even if they don't agree. (Be it based on general
support of one ideology, or because you genuinely don't
agree.)

Great article. When you find an engaging writer, no
matter the context if you're like me? You read. I read
his article "This Will not End Well" and found the
comparison between past International US politics
failure and the current Obama administration choices
very interesting.

This is not politics as usual, his opinion piece is
an interesting prediction. Well worth the read, I look
forward to reading more.
