Jordan H. Green

Jordan's Daily -- Almost!

#1 in International Politics

Description:   Jordan H. Green began his never-ending journey for life-long learning while writing for the campus paper in university.

From student protests, to student politics, he eventually discovered his passion for knowledge -- and even more importantly, that he could write.

And write he did, for major big city dailies, small town weeklies, monthly magazines, even doing on-air work in television and radio -- Jordan mastered the media.

Jokingly calling this blog his place to "bitch and moan" he's once again mastering the media -- this time that new fangled thing called "the net."

An "Everyman" in Canada

January 18, 2010

Reading Mr. Green's thoughtful deliberations about
choosing a domain name made me smile. Would that we
Americans give as much thought to our political
candidates as Jordan did in picking his brand name.
Written in a folksy style, Jordan's Daily (almost) is a
good read!

Jordan's blog gives the opportunity to read information
about hot topics completely to the point. Each of his
posts is worth reading.

Jordan's views of news make you really understand
what's going on. He clearly explains controversial
topics in an easy way so everybody can get the idea.

A great blog with a wide variety of topics.

Print journalists need to learn to do this

June 21, 2009

The Internet is full of regurgitated news, with a tiny
personal spin added to keep Google happy. Print media
mostly follows suit, simply spewing the same content
out in black and white. Those journalists could learn a
lot by visiting Jordan's blog.

Personally, I'm not interested in politics. I don't
follow world events too closely. All the ins and outs
of law and policy fry my brain. But this is one blog I
will definitely be visiting regularly, because it's
written for people like me.

Jordan takes a look at the current news and, instead
of just duplicating content in the hopes of getting
some advertising revenue, actually explains it. Yes,
that's right: EXPLAINS. He doesn't analyse it and he
doesn't delve deeply into it - both of which would bore
and lose people like me - but explains it in normal
terms. He covers the issue, then shows how it affects
normal people, some of the possible repercussions and
the longer-term effects. He looks at the people, the
places and the events, then - with a beautifully short
piece of writing - makes it crystal clear for the
layman.

Recommended reading for people who are bored by
too-deep analysis or who struggle to understand why
politics is important. Oh, and for print journalists,
too.
