Popular Science has long been my favorite scientific
journal. I am pretty busy and can't spend hours reading
article after article. Laurie along with the other
Popsci writers keep me informed of the latest
discoveries in the world of science.

Laurie J. Schmidt primarily writes for popular science
magazine, but also writes a great deal of web content
and articles for other sites. She shows great skill in
writing about science in a way that is both accessible
and interesting to the casual reader. What I like so
much about Schmidt, is that she brings complex material
to the novice while avoiding oversimplifications or
superficial explanations. I like Laurie Schmidt's
writing in Popular Science but I love her work on the
Mars 101 section of the Phoenix Mars Mission Web Site.
Overall, if your looking for quality science writing
for education or casual interest purposes, Laurie J.
Schmidt is a good bet.
