Fantastic way of illustrating bible stories.

June 26, 2009

This is better than most of the children's bibles you
can buy at the store. It also reveals how strange and
unusual a lot of the stories are especially if you come
from the kind of background that looks at them as
literal histories or even explanatory of scientific
principles. All with Legos... (Legos/Logos? hmmm.)

Illustrating the Bible Brick by Brick

May 14, 2009

Learning from the Bible is truly a family endeavor with
The Brick Testament. The Rev. Brendan Powell Smith has
created a clever and fun portrayal of nearly 400 Bible
stories on his site. All the illustrations are composed
completely of LEGOs, starting with Genesis and ending
in Revelation. Every artistic scene is accompanied by
the corresponding translation, providing a unique
visual along with a valuable piece of God’s Word. A
content notice is provided for parents who are visiting
the site with children.

God Would Approve of This Creation and Then Weep With
Jealousy

May 11, 2009

I am not a Christian or a religious person. My
interest in the Bible is strictly literary. But I
absolutely love The Brick Testament. The Reverend
Brendan Powell Smith has taken the Biblical stories and
turned them into something truly magnificent by using
his ingenious creativity with LEGOs to illustrate its
message. Each chapter is rated by the author for
content - the Bible is filled with blood and boobies,
so parents beware. Smith’s designs are genius and
transcendent. What better way to broaden the appeal of
a religious text than to present it in this way? Not
even an atheist could hate it.
