Stats, Stats, Stats

June 19, 2010

This guy has a great simulator, and is filled with
stats. That's what makes him one of the better baseball
writers.

Bill James prodigy stat geek and historian

May 13, 2009

A whole new school of thought on how to evaluate
baseball players was ushered in by Bill James. Neyer is
devoted fan of James and communicates those ideas --
and a genuine love of baseball historical and current
-- to his audience at ESPN. A writer who has found his
voice and a platform to make himself heard.

One of ESPN's best baseball bloggers

May 07, 2009

Neyer has been with ESPN since 1996, when he started
writing for them after leaving his job with Bill James.
He is very into statistics, and uses them at almost
every turn to prove his points, from the decline of a
prospect to how baseball teams work on their drafts.
These days, his blog is specifically aimed at baseball,
much like Henry Abbott's blog TrueHoop is specifically
aimed at the MLB, although in times past we have seen
Neyer write about the NBA and NFL when he worked for
Stats, Inc.
