Darren Murph

Engadget

#2 in Gadgets and Electronics

Description:   An unhealthily loyal NC State fan and alum, Darren was once forced to work a modern day CES with a Snake-laden Nokia candybar. He also attended his first LAN party at age seven, and his goal in life is to literally go everywhere. Only two of those points are true, and he might confess to which are which if you've got some airline miles you'd like to donate. Or a phone made in the last decade.

Darren Gives the Goods

October 12, 2010

I visit Engadget on a very frequent basis. This is one
of my go to sources for tech info, has been for several
years. Darren writes some very informative articles,
many of which have swayed my decision to try or
purchase new electronics. When I need a new laptop, I
go to Engadget...if I need a new mobile, I go to
Engadget...a new MP3 player???...you got it: Engadget.
Darren gives seemingly unbiased reviews and information
and I don't remember him steering me wrong before.

As a follower of Engadget Darren writes fantastic
articles that inspire me to make my own technology blog
as high quality and entertaining as possible.

tech-head-mekka

April 16, 2010

Engagded is the place to be if you're interested in
gadgets, rumours, code or anything you can plug into or
install on your computer.
The page is - not by coinsidence - a place where
tech-heads gather, and that is noticable, and might
scare some of us "mortals", although I enjoy
the posts, the comments sometimes go a bit over my
head. Not a site I would recommend to my grandmother,
but anyone slightly interested will find something to
enjoy.

As what Darren Murph is concerned, I believe he knows
what he's talking about!!!

site for all the rumors, hacks, and electronics

February 07, 2010

Darren Murph writes for Engadget. The site for all the
rumors, hacks, and snark you can stomach about
electronics has separate feeds for posts about only
HDTV and mobile devices, if that's all you're into.
Otherwise, feel free to be inundated with the sheer
quantity of coverage on the main page, not to mention
the comments on each post, which can easily number 100
plus on a hot topic. If you missed a tech rumor, you
weren't reading Engadget.

Gadgets-R-Us

June 09, 2009

Engadget is my one stop shop for the latest and
greatest in the electronics world. Wondering if that
new phone you're craving for is going to to be released
any time soon and what the specs of it will be?
Engadget has you covered. I will agree with rshamraj1
that the lingo sometimes is a technological, but
honestly it doesn't matter too much because the
majority of the readers that this site is geared toward
are "technophiles" I give the blog and the blogger two
thumbs up and you should defiantly bookmark/subscribe
to the RSS Feed!

The Man Likes His Gadgets

May 14, 2009

Darren Murphy does his research and knows his facts off
the technology field. He updates his blog numerous
times a day. His tone is also very casual, which will
help attract visitors who do not want a pro writing a
huge textbook.

In terms of negative aspects to his writing, he does
use a lot of terms a reader may not know of. He also
tends to assume that the reader has a background in
previous forms of the gadgets he is talking about. If
you are already a regular reader of him, it may not be
a problem. New readers may feel out of place, but the
website itself, Engadget, does provide links to other
articles on certain terms and other gadgets, which is
helpful. People not that into it will still be lost.
This is definitely not meant for novices, but neither
do you have to be a cold expert to enjoy it.

"Wicked cool"

April 11, 2009

This writer makes me LOL sometimes with the words he
uses, such as "wicked cool" or "bling". I believe the
reason I find it comical is because you usually do not
hear these phrases when talking about technology. It
is usually dry and factual. So its a refreshing tool
he uses to liven up the page and I give him credit for
that.

Gadgets Galore

April 10, 2009

Engadget is a group blog, a big name one, and Darren is
one of the bloggers there. The blog writes rave reviews
of gadgets - hence the name - and numerous electronic
products.

Darren seems to put major emphasis on big, catchy
photos, and small, pithy blog posts. He is writing
literature. He wants you to get informed, he wants to
pique your interest. Less of your time he takes, better
the job he has done, he seems to think.
